Dr. Bruce Banner, a top nuclear scientist, is exposed to gamma radiation during an explosion. The radiation alters his DNA, unleashing a hidden, adrenaline-fed hero and causing him to transform when he gets angry into a massive, incredibly strong creature known as the Hulk. Dr. Banner struggles to come to terms with the destructive power of his alter ego, spending much of his time looking for a way to keep calm and maintain control of the Jade Giant. Many people pursue the Hulk, either fearing his rage, or wanting to control it for their own purposes. Each time, the Hulk emerges victorious. As a member of the Avengers, the Hulk provides the awesome might necessary to battle evil greater than any single hero could face.
